Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about package forwarding: purchases, shipping, prices, customs and more.

Getting started

What is Forwarding.es?

It is a Spain-based package forwarding service. We give you a real Spanish delivery address at a partner shop (a LocalHub) so you can buy from Spanish and European stores that do not ship to your country, and we forward your parcels to 200+ countries with the courier you choose.

See the forwarding service →
How does it work?

Four steps: 1) sign up and get your Spanish address; 2) buy from any store using it as the delivery address; 3) we receive and check your parcel and notify you; 4) you choose the courier, pay the shipping and we send it to your door.

See how it works →
Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. Signing up takes about a minute, needs no credit card, and the Spanish address is free on the Free plan.

Create my free account →
Is Forwarding.es a courier company?

No. We receive, check, repack and prepare your parcels, and ship them with third-party carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS, DPD, GLS, CTT Express, Paack, Correos Express, Correos, Zeleris…), always with a tracking number.

Which countries do you ship to?

To 200+ countries. The destination and the courier you choose determine the price and transit time; you can check it instantly in the calculator, no registration needed.

Receiving your purchases

Can you receive smartphones purchased from AliExpress?

We can receive any product, purchased from any store.

Check prohibited items →
Which stores can I buy from?

Any store you like: Spanish and European shops that do not ship abroad, marketplaces or stores from any country. Just use your Forwarding.es address as the delivery address.

Browse shops →
How will I know my parcel has arrived?

We notify you when we receive it and you can see it in your account, where you choose what to do with it: ship it, consolidate it with others or request photos.

Can I request photos of my parcel?

Yes. We offer inspection photos: 1 to 5 per parcel, with a per-photo fee that depends on your plan.

My foreign card or phone number is rejected by a store. What can I do?

With the Buyer online service you send us the product link and we buy it for you. Then we receive it and forward it to your country.

Shipping & couriers

Can you forward the phone to my address in Europe?

Certainly—to any country you choose.

Which couriers do you work with?

DHL, FedEx, UPS, DPD, GLS, CTT Express, Paack, Correos Express, Correos, Zeleris and more: at least 20 services depending on the destination. You choose the one that best fits your budget and timing.

Do my shipments have a tracking number?

Yes, always. You can check it from your account or on the tracking page with your shipment number and email.

Track a shipment →
How is the international shipping price calculated?

It depends on the chargeable weight (the greater of actual and volumetric weight), the destination and the chosen courier, plus the handling fee of your plan. VAT is included; import duties and taxes at destination are not.

Calculate my shipment →
What is volumetric weight?

It is the parcel volume converted to kilos: length × width × height (cm) ÷ 5000. Couriers charge by the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so a smaller box means a cheaper shipment.

How to pay less on shipping →
Can I insure my shipment?

Yes. In the calculator you can add optional insurance of up to €2,000.00.

Can I have my parcel collected by my own carrier?

Yes, we offer pick-up by your own carrier, with a per-parcel fee depending on your plan.

What happens if the shipment is refused or the address is wrong?

If the parcel is returned (refusal, wrong address, etc.) a surcharge of €15.00 applies plus the cost of the new shipment. Please double-check the address and recipient details before confirming.

Plans & prices

How much does the service cost?

There are three plans: Free (free forever), Basic (monthly) and Premium (yearly). Paid plans lower the fees per parcel. You pay the international shipping plus the service fees you use.

See plans & pricing →
Is the Spanish address free?

Yes, on the Free plan the address is free with no commitment. You only pay when you request a service on your parcels.

Which fees are charged per parcel?

Handling, inspection photos, storage (after your plan’s free days), repackaging or consolidation, own-carrier pick-up, FBA labelling and Buyer online, depending on what you use. The full table is on the pricing page.

See the fee table →
Which plan is best for me?

If you ship occasionally, the Free plan is usually enough. If you receive parcels often, a paid plan saves you on every fee: compared with the Free plan, Basic saves up to 50% on fees and Premium up to 80%.

Compare plans →
What counts as a standard parcel?

Up to 80,000 cm³ and 20 kg. Larger or heavier parcels pay a multiple of the handling fee.

Do prices include VAT?

Yes, the prices of our services include VAT. Import duties and taxes at destination are not included and are paid by the recipient.

Consolidation & repackaging

What is parcel consolidation?

It means combining several parcels into one box so you pay for a single international shipment. You can save up to 70% on shipping.

See consolidation →
Can I re-consolidate a parcel several times?

Yes. While your parcels are in our warehouse you can re-consolidate them as many times as you need, for example when new purchases arrive.

What is repackaging?

It means removing unnecessary packaging or adjusting the box to reduce size and weight and better protect the contents. This lowers volumetric weight and makes the shipment cheaper.

Do you provide boxes and pallets?

Yes, we have optional boxes and pallets for consolidation. Their prices are on the pricing page.

See material prices →

Customs & taxes

Do I need customs documents?

No customs declaration is needed between EU countries. For shipments leaving the EU customs territory we generate the proforma invoice, the customs clearance authorisation and the CN23 for you.

See customs documents →
Who pays import duties and taxes?

The recipient, in the destination country. They are not included in the shipping price and vary by country and type of product.

Are the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla treated as EU for customs?

No. Shipments to the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla leave the EU customs territory, so they require customs documentation.

Allowed & prohibited items

Do you accept smartphones that contain built-in lithium batteries?

Yes, that’s no problem at all; we regularly receive smartphones for forwarding.

Which items are prohibited?

Dangerous goods (ADR/IATA), weapons and replicas, explosives, flammable products, loose lithium batteries, narcotics, cash and bearer documents, animals, perishable goods, counterfeit goods and anything prohibited by the carrier or the destination country.

See the full list →
Can I ship loose batteries or power banks?

Loose lithium batteries are on the list of prohibited items. Devices with a built-in battery, such as smartphones, can be forwarded. If you are unsure about a specific item, write to us before you ship it.

Ask our team →
What happens if I receive a prohibited item?

Forwarding.es may inspect, refuse or destroy parcels that break the conditions. The customer is solely responsible for the contents of their shipments.

Payments & invoices

How can I pay?

By card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB), Apple Pay or Amazon Pay, processed instantly by Stripe, or by bank transfer (instant SEPA transfer recommended).

Is it safe to pay by card?

If I pay by bank transfer, when is my shipment prepared?

As soon as the payment is verified. With an instant SEPA transfer the process is much faster.

Where can I download my invoices?

Storage & returns

How long do you keep my parcels?

See free days per plan →
What happens if I do not manage my parcel within 60 days?

After 60 days the parcel is considered abandoned and may be disposed of. We send you a reminder before that deadline.

Can you destroy a product I do not want?

Yes, destroying a product is free. You can request it from your account.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Yes: gift paper, a bow and an optional message for each product, for an additional fee shown on the pricing page.

For shops (LocalHub)

Can my shop become a LocalHub?

Yes, as long as your shop is located in mainland Spain (the LocalHub programme is not available for shops in the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, or outside Spain).
